# Customize branding and search appearance

> Update the portal identity, sharing preview, and search-engine settings after the default portal is working.

Workspace owners and admins can customize how the portal looks and how its links appear when customers find or share them.

## Update portal branding

Open **Workspace settings → Branding**. Configure the workspace display name, description, logo, favicon, accent color, and theme, then save.

Free workspaces can choose from the preset accent colors. Starter, Growth, and Plus workspaces can also enter a custom hex color or use the color picker. If a workspace with a custom color moves to Free, the saved color stays active until you replace it with a preset.

The workspace name, logo, and accent color also apply to customer-facing transactional emails such as portal sign-in, beta-board invitations, feedback notifications, and changelog updates.

Removing Glean Feed attribution requires the Plus plan. The same choice removes Glean Feed attribution from supported customer emails.

<Check>
  Refresh **Public Portal** and confirm the name, logo, favicon, colors, and light/dark treatment
  are readable on the public page.
</Check>

## Configure search and link previews

Open **Workspace settings → Portal → SEO**. Configure:

* **Search indexing**.
* **SEO title**.
* **SEO description**.
* Social image.

When indexing is off, portal pages are marked `noindex` and left out of the portal sitemap. Turn it on only when the portal content is ready to be discoverable.

<Check>
  Confirm the SEO preview shows the expected title, description, image, and portal hostname. If
  indexing is disabled, confirm the setting still reads as disabled after saving.
</Check>

## Review sharing again

Return to **Portal → Share** and review the portal preview after branding changes. Copy the public URL again if you changed to a custom domain.

The **Widget** tab controls the packaged launcher's button icon. Launcher and inline installation snippets live under **Workspace settings → General**.
